Moritz is a brilliant, knowledgeable professor as well as a wonderful and sweet person. She led class discussion very well and is very willing to help outside the class.

Prof. Moritz is definetly the best foreign language teacher I have ever had. She put in so much time finding ways to explain grammatical concepts to us, not just telling us to look it up in the textbook by ourselves. She encouraged us to speak up in class even though the format was lecture and if we had a question she couldn't answer right then, she would research it and answer the question later, never wanting to leave us wondering. She put in lots of extra time outside class meeting with us individually and helping us focus on our goals for the semester. She also put in a lot of time making worksheets for grammatical concepts in the textbook. Some people might scoff at professor handouts, but hers always made the lesson clearer and I used those more than I used my textbook for reference.

I had studied French for three years before coming to college, but I felt that I improved more in one year of Prof. Moritz's class than in three years of French before.

This professor has changed the way I speak and write in French. She is an absolute gem, and is without a doubt the strongest, most caring professor still in the department. I would go out of my way to take another class from her.

Mme Moritz is an amazing professor--you WILL learn French in her class. She takes a variety of approaches, working with listening, writing, reading, and speaking to round out your skills.

She is an unwavering support system; if you need any help with a particular concept or on a project/paper, she is more than happy to help you. She would also frequently bring extra material to class, such as a copy of the first French film every made, Euro-shaped candy, French pencils for each of us, etc. She certainly cares very much for each and every one of her students.

There is a fair amount of work involved in her class, but it is never busywork: every assignment is helpful and justified. She also caters to your specific needs by helping you come up with goals for the class, encouraging you to check your progress, and assigning journal assignments (in which you can do listening, writing, reading, or speaking activities--whatever will help you most).

My French skills improved exponentially in her class; I would take another class from her in a second!
