Professor Gunsul is probably the best core teacher you could ever hope for. He has very strong opinions and refuses to let you take anything you know for granted. He loves ancient Greek literature and anything to do with "Xenia".

He is a fairly easy grader as long as you put well-though ideas into your essays. He is definitely not picky about details such as commas, citations, etc.

Gunsul was probably the greatest Core teacher that I could have gotten saddled with. He's very enthusiastic about ancient literature, especially when it comes to Ancient Greece. You wouldn't expect a man with a Physics PhD to have such a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Ancient Greek culture, but the man sure does. He'll swear and say some controversial things, but you'll love him for it anyway. He will not shy away from sharing his opinions, and he has a lot of them, but he expects the same of his students. As a result, people become very comfortable in his class and some pretty interesting discussions ensue.

If you have Gunsul for Core, you're very very lucky. Go thank your lucky stars.

Professor Gunsul is like a badass Santa Claus. He has a gruff manner but is a really nice guy. He really knows his stuff and loves teaching. His tangents are awesome.

Awesome guy, very intellectual...knows how/when to promote discussion, and when it's a good idea to sit back and let the discussion go of its own accord.

Wish I could give him a 10 out of 9.

Without question my favorite prof I have ever had. He is retiring I believe, but a fantastic, fantastic old man. Has the spirit of someone forty years his minor, and a seemingly undying love for imparting knowledge upon young people. This man will be missed in this community, and if you do not know him, try to. He is that cool.
