Great teacher, hard grader, expects a lot but makes you enthusiastic to give a lot.

Jeannie will not give you an A. Don't take her class if you care about grades.

Do take her class if you care about politics, intellectual stimulation, and exciting discussions.

Just make sure not to fall asleep in class - she throws things at you!

Jeannie is probably my favorite prof at Whitman. Her enthusiasm for the course material is nearly literally infectous, and she is incredibly effective at managing a great class discussion. She is smarter than the average bear and a hell of a lot funnier than a bear, too. Plus she's hot.

Jeannie is a wonderful prof. Very easy to access outside of class, easy and fun to talk to, and almost always has great discussions in class. That being said, she's very difficult and will grade you down almost arbitrarily sometimes on papers, but otherwise she's great. And if you're nice, she might give you a bottle of wine at the end of the semester. Good wine, too.

A truly wonderful prof. Take a class from her and it will be both one of your hardest and one of your favorites. The only reason I am giving a 7 instead of a 9 is that her grading really can be over-the-top difficult, which soon becomes more frustrating than challenging.

Jeannie is really fun, and really hot. Like seriously. She's incredibly smart and knows the shit she's talking about. The readings are difficult but worth it.
